Haley Vasilko, O.D. received her Doctor of Optometry from Southern College of Optometry in 2020, and earned her undergraduate degree in Biomedical Sciences from Grand Valley State University.
Dr. Vasilko always had a desire for a career in the medical field. She recalls an amazing optometrist who treated her with such kindness and care, and who would always answer her many questions when she was growing up. That experience made her want to be just like him. While she did consider other areas in the medical field, she always came back to optometry.
Dr. Vasilko loves being a primary care provider because it allows her to build strong relationships with her patients year after year. She has always been interested in treating the eyes of children and special needs patients. She also appreciates that she can have a very comfortable work-life balance.
In her time away from the office, Dr. Vasilko enjoys spending time outdoors with her boyfriend and their German shepherd, as well as cooking, reading, and trying new restaurants. She is also an ice hockey fan who supports and cheers for her Pittsburgh Penguins.
