Laura Pels, O.D.

Therapeutic Optometrist

Laura Pels, O.D., received her Doctor of Optometry from the University of Houston’s College of Optometry, where she was valedictorian of her graduating class.  Following graduation, she was employed in the Ophthalmology Department at the University of Texas’ Southwestern Medical School.

Dr. Pels and her husband have lived in Coppell since 1983.  In 1991, she began her private practice career in Coppell, Texas.  She believes her career in optometry has provided her with a wonderful opportunity to help others with their visual needs, while also having the flexibility of raising her three children.  As a Therapeutic Optometrist, Dr. Pels specializes in contact lens fittings and many aspects of primary care optometry.  She takes great pride in utilizing the time with her patients to address and correct their visual concerns in both a professional and personal way.

Dr. Pels enjoys traveling, socializing with good friends, being part of the community, and spending time with her ever-growing family.  Enjoying life, both in and out of the office, and making good memories is what Dr. Pels believes is important.

Sandra Elston, O.D.

Therapeutic Optometrist

Sandra Elston, O.D., received her Doctor of Optometry in 2000 from the University of Houston, where she also received a Bachelor of Science in Optometry.

Dr. Elston is a Therapeutic Optometrist who has been in practice in the Dallas-Fort Worth area since 2000 and has especially enjoyed working in the Coppell community alongside Dr. Laura Pels since 2003.  Dr. Elston believes that the simple act of listening to her patients is the most important part of the examination process, and the fact that she is able to help patients in such a direct and immediate way is most rewarding to her.

Dr. Elston’s role involves more than just collecting data and constructing eyeglass prescriptions.  More importantly, she formulates a plan to address her patients’ needs and concerns to improve their vision experience.  Dr. Elston strongly believes in treating others as she would want to be treated, and she places honor and respect as critical elements in all that she does.

In her free time, Dr. Elston thoroughly enjoys spending time with her husband and two children.  She is an avid crafter, a do-it-yourselfer, and a proud mom who cheers a little too loudly at her daughter’s volleyball games and her son’s baseball games.  Dr. Elston says that her career helps to keep her mind sharp, and her family keeps her soul happy.
